What am I doing wrong?

Hey Reader!

There’s a mental burden that comes with an email setup you haven’t looked at in a while. That quiet hum of everything is totally, probably, possibly wrong with it.

Like, you can’t quite feel confident sending another email (though you still hit “send”!) because there’s so much uncertainty about if it’ll even work? That your audience will actually click? Or worry if someone on your list is getting more emails in a day than you really want?

Yeah, same.

While I’ve emailed my list more than 500 times since I started my weekly email in October 2019 — some of what I’ve repurposed into my welcome and nurture sequence emails feels outdated.

It feels like Past Me betrayed the game plan. (Like, “Girl, you were supposed to keep this up to daaaaate.”🤦🏻‍♀️)

Well, that happens. 😅 Especially as we’re busy building and creating new things!

For me: A growing team, new clients, and over 100 episodes on Happy Subscribers in the last 2 years…

For you: Maybe a new cookbook now! Or more niche content. Or you’ve updated your branding everywhere… except email.

If you want to know what needs to change, backed by solid long-term strategies, may I suggest the Email Strategy Playbook?

What could I be doing better?

THE EMAIL STRATEGY PLAYBOOK is when my team does a deep-dive review of your current email setup and reports back with a 30+ page doc and a real-person review call.

We look at where your email marketing stands now — and what specific steps you can take to fix issues, help your messaging better align with your brand today (versus years ago), and create more engaging relationships with your subscribers.

We report back on things like:

  • Your new subscriber journey: How are people getting on your list, then what are they actually receiving?
  • Your broadcasts and newsletters: Getting professional copywriting eyeballs on the emails you’re sending (i.e. What’s working with your current emails? What could be tested or changed to see if your audience responds differently?)
  • Your email backend: Making sure your email forms and workflows are, you know, working
  • Your list growth: What gaps might be keeping you from getting more email subscribers?
  • Your recommended next steps: Expert insight into maximizing your email strategy through new or updated automations

If you want some of that (jk, you actually get ALL of that) — then let’s chat! You can reply to this email or book a quick call with me here.

Any lingering questions you have, we’ll answer! Every new Email Strategy Playbook client completes our New Project Questionnaire, that way we know what’s on your mind and can be sure to address those questions (along with the massive Playbook checklist we already have!).

When is the best time for an Email Strategy Playbook?

🤫 Fun fact: I had MY team review, audit and “roast” my own email strategy earlier this summer. They gave me the same Playbook review we give our clients.

Because, while I’m a big email nerd, that doesn’t mean my setup is perfect. Or that my messaging is 100% current. Or that I’ve incorporated the things I’ve learned — and know I want to include — to make my welcome sequence even better.

I, too, run a business and am super busy.

So what’s lovely is that I now have my own Email Strategy Playbook — a custom list of WHAT to fix (even if I can’t get to them right away) AND affirmation of things I’m already doing well.

For me, my fixes look like:

  • Updating language in my welcome sequence for where Duett is now, not 2019
  • Creating and testing new lead magnet ideas now that I’m more clear about my audience
  • And reviewing outdated details in my nurture sequence

If you want the same treatment — a thorough, strategic look through your own automations, newsletters, opt-ins and subscriber engagement — now is the time to book an Email Strategy Playbook!

You don’t need to supply much at all — just the New Project Questionnaire, then hop on a 30-minute call with our team to talk through questions (even that could wait until Q1, if you need the time!) — in order to have an actual plan for updating your email strategy.

We have only TWO spots available in Q4.

This time of year, most of us want a plan, but we don't have the time to do the work yet. The Playbook gets you your 2027 email strategy now, plus some easy tactical edits you can make during Q4 (if you have the time).

⚡Bing, bang, boom!

"Allea and the Duett team are amazing to work with.

They're ultra-organized and know email strategy inside and out. The Email Strategy Playbook is extremely thorough and detailed. It's laid out well and easy to understand, with helpful links to additional resources. I'm excited about the clear steps I have to take and the plan that will result."

Hey Reader! It was September, three or four weeks into working with a remote-team consultant alongside my whole team. And here I was, crying for the second day in a row. I could see so much that could be done. And when I know something needs fixing, I feel responsible for fixing it, fast. That urgency stressed me OUT. So I told our consultant, Madi, "There's just so much." And she asked me one question: "What if you let someone else take on some of these things?" "I'm sorry, huh?" It's like...

Hey Reader! Your subscribers asked for your emails. Protecting that trust means making sure those emails ACTUALLY show up. In the primary inbox, not buried in promotions. I didn't know how to get out of the promotions tab, let alone where to even start, since I'm not a deliverability expert. So I brought my friend Alyssa Dulin, Kit's Director of Customer Success, on Happy Subscribers to talk about: The one thing your subscribers can do that tells Gmail you're not just another promo email (!!)...

👋 Quick note since you’re already a Done & Delivered client: I know you’re not in the market for this one (we’ve already got your emails covered!). But if you know a fellow creator who’d love the same help, we only have ONE spot left in 2026, and then we won’t open another until April. If they join the waitlist by this Saturday, Oct 24, they’ll get $200 off Done & Delivered, no matter when they start. Feel free to forward this email their way! Hey Reader! “Between trying to make new content...
