7 things that shaped my life & business this year

Hey Reader,

It’s December, that time you reflect back on your year and take stock of what the last 11+ months held… I love a good moment to record what happened, asking:

“What did I learn? What made this year significant?”

For me, that looked like writing out a list of 10 (which quickly became 15) of my top moments or wins from the year.

And I’m sharing 7 of those in this week’s podcast.

Tune in to hear what’s shaped me the most this year. Things like:

allowing myself rest and margin

Spending less time creating NEW things the first half of the year.

experimentation and personal renewal

New brand photos, as mentioned on the podcast 🥰

connection and support

My bestie who hypes me up BIG time.

And so much more.

If you need a touch of humanity in this AI-crazed, “bigger must always be better” world — let me be the one to give you the encouragement (and reality) you need to set new metrics for what the “best of” could look like for your life and business.

I've been fighting with it in my brain for weeks now! 😅 You could say I've had my dance battle with AI. At the end of January I was very anti-AI — you know, because it can affect my entire business model and that feels terrible. So in order to know more, I've spent more time over the last month or so using it. And, unfortunately, it's been really incredible. 😅 While,...

Hey Reader! If you’re remotely close to the food blogging community, you’ve heard of this strategy for lead generation — and not only am I sharing it with you as a surefire way to boost subscribers, I’m going to show you HOW. What is it? It’s a “Save this Recipe” form that you add to every blog post. It looks like this: Example from Eating Bird Food You can even use this strategy for non-food blogs, of course, like a “Save this Post” form instead. If you’re interested, it’s worth trying out...

Hey Reader! Amy Reid of Baking with Granny was on the Happy Subscribers podcast in January! I got to meet Amy in-person at the Tastemaker Conference in January! Not only is Amy a GEM of a person, she’s cracked the reader-relationship code with her subscribers and was able to get more than 300+ pre-order sales of her cookbook within 24 hours of emailing her list. It worked all because she’s been nurturing her list long before she asked for the sale (what she calls “the plea” 😂). You don’t want...
