Hey Reader, …so now that I’ve poured my heart out (and a face of me crying) to you on the internet, let’s get into some email marketing, shall we? 😂 I was just on a mastermind call this week with content creators who have hundreds of thousands of IG followers, and a few with a MILLION or two. I also had a coaching call with a client of mine whose email list is over 200k subscribers. Want to hear what we talked about in BOTH calls? This list-growth strategy from Kit: The Kit Creator NetworkIf you’re a Kit user and you’re not already using the Creator Network, this is the first thing I want you to do today. Why? 44% of my OWN list is made up of subscribers who were recommended to me via someone else’s Creator Network. 44%! And I didn’t have to share my forms on IG regularly or have a pop-up on my site; this is organic growth that gets me in front of new folks online and draws them in for exactly what they expect. Here’s what my profile looks like: Okay, here are the steps I wrote up for Duett clients — and I’m sharing them with you today, so you can get down to business and start growing your list this way quickly. IF YOU DO IT, I WANNA KNOW! Reply back and show me what you’ve done! Here are the steps: 01 | SET UP YOUR CREATOR PROFILEThis includes your bio (the one that creators and potential subscribers will see), links to your site or resources, as well as any public broadcast emails This Creator Profile can be expanded on later, but mostly you want your bio and name to be super clear so that other creators know why they should recommend you — and why their readers should opt in for your list if they’re a good fit. More on that here: 3 Steps To Get More Recommendations Through The Kit Creator Network Notice how mine above is really clear. It says: Email Marketing for BloggersAllea Grummert, Duett And I changed my button to read “Connect with Allea” versus “Subscribe.” My profile can be seen in full here: https://duett.kit.com/ 02 | SELECT YOUR RECOMMENDATIONSExplore, baby! Go use the toggle feature to find others in your related space and learn more about who else is out there creating content your audience might love.
03 | VERY IMPORTANT! SET UP THIS RULEIf you have a Welcome Sequence, set up a Rule that will add new subscribers to your New Subscriber Welcome automation if they join via the Creator Profile or via the Creator Network. You only have to set this up one time: 04 | CHOOSE WHICH FORMS SHOULD SHOW/NOT SHOW CREATOR NETWORK RECOMMENDATIONS TO YOUR NEW SUBSCRIBERSYou’ll do that from this page. Select the 3 dots on the right-hand side, then Settings. Select Recommendations. From here you can click Edit to manually select which forms show recommendations upon someone subscribing to your list. You can also enable this feature by default for all new forms. WHEW! Okay, that’s it! From there, we can focus more on list growth in other ways, but for today, start here. 😊 Tell me if you set yours up! What’s so fun is that after my mastermind coaching call — at least THREE of these top-tier creators have decided to move to Kit from Flodesk. Does that make me an influencer? I think so. 💁🏼♀️ If you’re curious about switching to Kit so you can use this list growth feature too, I’m happy to answer questions. Start with the free Newsletter plan of Kit to check it out yourself! (That’s my affiliate link) Let’s Duett! Allea P.S. I am buzzzzzzing 🐝 with some big news that’s going to be announced next week. Stay tuned here and on my Instagram! |

Hey Reader! This solo podcast is all about segmentation. Segmenting your email list may sound really "techie”... and, well, it is. 😂 It may not be easy to understand, but I make it my goal to break down complex “techie” things into something that makes sense. At the start of 2026, I led a workshop on segmentation at Tastemaker (a lovely in-person conference, with even lovelier people!) – and it was everything I hoped for: Teaching about email marketing Walking around and answering questions...
Hey Reader! I got this email from my mom last week that just said, “Fight the AI.” And I was like, Mom, you have no idea. I've been fighting with it in my brain for weeks now! 😅 You could say I've had my dance battle with AI. At the end of January I was very anti-AI — you know, because it can affect my entire business model and that feels terrible. So in order to know more, I've spent more time over the last month or so using it. And, unfortunately, it's been really incredible. 😅 While,...
Hey Reader! If you’re remotely close to the food blogging community, you’ve heard of this strategy for lead generation — and not only am I sharing it with you as a surefire way to boost subscribers, I’m going to show you HOW. What is it? It’s a “Save this Recipe” form that you add to every blog post. It looks like this: Example from Eating Bird Food You can even use this strategy for non-food blogs, of course, like a “Save this Post” form instead. If you’re interested, it’s worth trying out...
