Hey Reader, Oooof, if you’ve spent any (let alone too much) time on Reels, or in discussions with other creators, are you also feeling a little bit… I know it’s not just me. If you’re feeling any ounce of fear of the unknown with AI, Google search changes — or in my case, a recent breakup (UGH, I’d rather break a limb) — you’re not alone. The world *at large* is feeling very dicey, scary even. I have friends whose Haitian family might need to leave the country. I have a friend with a rare cancer that isn’t responding to treatment. And I have a sweet set of copywriting skills that AI is trying to replicate. And food blogging clients whose hard work creating recipes is getting bypassed because of AI-generated content. Like, what the heck, right? And I don’t know the answers. (Gosh, I hope you weren’t expecting I’d know how to solve this by the end of an email. 😅) Honestly, the slight relief I feel comes from knowing we’re doing it together. You and me and every creator online right now; we’re all out here trying to read a new map as it’s being drawn. So while we do that — in order to take care of our bodies, our minds, and our anxieties — here’s where I’m leaning in and putting my energy:
You matter. Your work matters too. But you matter more. Sending you my love, even amidst all we don’t know. — If you missed it last week, my hope is that this episode on Happy Subscribers will relieve some email-related anxiety with a few practical, tactical ideas as you grow and email your list. Email is still a surefire way to build and maintain relationships with your audience, each and every subscriber, even as AI shifts, algorithms f’up your social reach, and the helpful content update tanks your page views. It’s one place online that if you were to put time and energy into, you’ll reap great rewards — not just in page views or sales but in a connection with your work and your audience. It’s a happy, delightful space for a feedback loop that reminds you that your work is important to people. If you want to learn more about making email easier to actually do (even in these trying times), listen in here. Or click here to listen on Apple Podcasts. What has been grounding you — personally or in your work — that’s helping you feel at peace in whatever season or emotions you’re experiencing right now? Allea P.S. If this resonates and would be helpful encouragement to a friend, please forward this email along to them. The more care, the better we’ll be, right? |

Hey Reader! This solo podcast is all about segmentation. Segmenting your email list may sound really "techie”... and, well, it is. 😂 It may not be easy to understand, but I make it my goal to break down complex “techie” things into something that makes sense. At the start of 2026, I led a workshop on segmentation at Tastemaker (a lovely in-person conference, with even lovelier people!) – and it was everything I hoped for: Teaching about email marketing Walking around and answering questions...
Hey Reader! Have you been in the mood to do some spring cleaning lately, or is it just me? This year has been full of cleaning for me — helping me stay mentally present and reducing the noise of my devices (and my life). So far I’ve: Replied “STOP” to SMS marketing texts (my reason being “I know where to find you when I need you, niche website where I wanted a coupon code for later.”) Cleared out my shoe collection. Emphasis on collection. I want to reduce decision fatigue, and oh my gosh,...
Hey Reader! I got this email from my mom last week that just said, “Fight the AI.” And I was like, Mom, you have no idea. I've been fighting with it in my brain for weeks now! 😅 You could say I've had my dance battle with AI. At the end of January I was very anti-AI — you know, because it can affect my entire business model and that feels terrible. So in order to know more, I've spent more time over the last month or so using it. And, unfortunately, it's been really incredible. 😅 While,...
