If your email platform feels like a mess, OPEN UP

Hey Reader,

Okay, I’m a NERD about systems and organization. You’ve probably learned that from me by now. (If not, this blog post will catch you up to speed. 😂)

And what’s ONE thing that everyone — I promise, everyone — gets befuddled about that I would LOVE to help you with? It’s getting your email service platform (ESP) cleaned up and organized!

Why? Because if you don’t know how your ESP is set up, what freebies are sending and when — or, like many people, you have too many unused forms hanging out in there and you have no idea what’s doing what — you’ll FEEL messy.

And MESSY is not exactly a place to be creative or build something wonderful through your email strategy, right?

So! I made you something.

A Short. Sweet. Video. Walkthrough.

Right here.

It’s 85 seconds of how I recommend you organize your email service platform.

The key points:

  • Rename your forms based on what it’s offering / delivering. Is it a general newsletter opt-in or an 5-day _____ email course? Name it that way, so you know from the Forms page what’s what.
  • Delete or archive forms you’re no longer using.
  • Rename your sequences on what’s being promoted / the goal of the emails. Is it promoting a waitlist? Delivering that 5-day _____ email course? Maybe it’s a follow-up email for people who haven’t bought yet?
  • Delete sequences you’re no longer using or rename them to start with a Z or something (this will move them to the end of the alphabetical list)
  • Delete unused tags and rules. (This isn’t shown in the video, since I didn’t want peoples’ email addresses out there for everyone to see, because #privacy)
  • Rename your Visual Automations or Workflows (whatever they’re called in your ESP!) based on WHAT is happening in the automation.

If you found this helpful, I’d love to hear it! Reply to this email with a little, “Yeah, Allea, thanks!” and I’ll know it didn’t land in a void of the internet somewhere where only people like me enjoy this stuff…

You’re awesome. And you’ll feel more confident about your email marketing setup once you put these tips into practice.

Let’s Duett!

Allea

P.S. Would you like more tech tips or organizational resources like this? Reply to let me know (otherwise I’ll move on to something else 😂).

Hey Reader, Oooof, if you’ve spent any (let alone too much) time on Reels, or in discussions with other creators, are you also feeling a little bit… I know it’s not just me. If you’re feeling any ounce of fear of the unknown with AI, Google search changes — or in my case, a recent breakup (UGH, I’d rather break a limb) — you’re not alone. The world *at large* is feeling very dicey, scary even. I have friends whose Haitian family might need to leave the country. I have a friend with a rare...

It’s called Email Marketing Answers with Allea and it's a free workshop roundtable hosted on Zoom where you can connect with me and...

Hey Reader, I was recording a guest podcast episode with a blogging coach last week (Bree from Thrive, if you know her!) — and, it’s important that you know, we both: Talk with our hands (me more than anyone 😅) Chat with the speed of the Gilmore Girls LOVE email marketing And one big question she had for me — from her audience of content creators — is this: What am I doing wrong with my email marketing? Now, first, please know that I think that if you’re *sending emails at all* you’re doing a...
